Canadian PM, opposition leader share kiss, in support of Orlando massacre

The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and opposition leader of the New Democratic Party, Thomas Mulcair both surprisingly shared a kiss in a stunt to denounce the shooting in Orlando which saw the death of 50 gay people in a bar in Orlando, Florida.

The pair completely surprised the media and the world, by kissing languidly for several seconds, especially with the fact that the two politicians are known for their dislike of each other.

The two politicians gathered for the first time in a joint press conference, yesterday to fight homophobic prejudices and denounce the recent violence against the LGBT community.

“What happened in Orlando was so terrible, that we didn’t have a choice but to react strongly,” said Mr. Mulcair, moments after the kiss. “Unfortunately, many people still have problems accepting the simple fact of seeing two men kissing each other, and that’s why this kind of gesture becomes so important.

 “When Mr. Trudeau called me to suggest that we should kiss, I must admit that I hesitated a little. However, he quickly convinced me that it was a good idea! It was for a good cause, and to be honest, it was quite a kiss!”

Trudeau praised the courage of the party for accepting his invitation called on all Canadians to imitate him, to fight the prejudice and hatred that are responsible for massacres like the one that took place in Florida on Sunday morning.

“After an event like this, we really had to react.” Mr Trudeau told reporters. “I approached Tom to know what he thought, but I really didn’t expect such enthusiasm. I was already surprised when he accepted, and I want to thank him for sharing this moment with me.  I must confess that I’m not used to kiss someone wearing the moustache and beard … but I think every men should try it at least once in their life.”
